Asteroid Hyalosis

Asteroid Hyalosis | E. Ahmed & N Leonard-Shiu | Bronx, NY

December 10, 2024 in Ocular

A 40s M presented with unilateral painless vision loss on the right for 3 months. His left eye vision, he says, is fine. His workup revealed a vitreous hemorrhage on the right. The left side revealed asteroid hyalosis. Clip 1 and 2 is the POCUS Ocular of the unaffected left eye: Asteroid hyalosis is a benign eye condition characterized by small, white, calcium-lipid deposits suspended in the vitreous humor. These deposits typically do not affect vision or require treatment.
