In a recent study, cardiopulmonary compression (CPR) without aortic outflow tract compression increased the chance of return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). In the above transesophageal echo (TEE) clip, the mid esophageal long axis view shows compression location is correctly over the left ventricle. Morbidity and mortality outcome data is likely a long way away, but early evidence shows that resuscitationists can increase chances of obtaining ROSC by avoiding compressing the aortic outflow tract.
