A middle aged male presents with 2 days of vision changes in his right eye. POCUS ocular diagnoses a retinal detachment. A dynamic exam is well done here, and helps show the retina attached to the optic disc posteriorly creating a sort of V shape, which is helpful in differentiating retinal detachment from vitreous detachment. A 2019 systematic review and meta analysis by Gottlieb et al found impressive sensitivity and specificity for the POCUS diagnosis of retinal detachment, 94% and 96% respectively.
